Is Success Your Business?

by Mike Monahan

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”

– Anatole France

When you ask people, “What business are you in?” they typically tell you what they do. But if you ask, “Why did you go into business?” the answer often is different.

When I ask the “why” question, responses move toward answers such as, “I want to be successful.”

Most experts tell us that the biggest cause of business failure is lack of preparation. I agree, but I think the cause goes much deeper.

When working with business professionals, I find that old beliefs drive their decisions. And this contributes to a lack of preparation, which can lead to failure.

If you want to make better decisions, you’ll have to challenge old beliefs.

I’ll discuss this topic and share tips to better your business at an upcoming Cincinnati Business Courier event on Tuesday, March 18 at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce offices.

At “Unlock the Door to Business Success,” we’ll look at how your biggest challenge to business success comes from within. In this interactive session, you’ll get past your fear and build professional success from the inside out.

I hope you’ll join me at this great business event, which is based on my latest book, Your Future Is Stuck in Your Past.
